What is SEO Optimization?
In summary, SEO Optimization is the use of techniques intended to manipulate the visibility of a brand or website on internet search engine results pages (SERPs). A great way to get a better understanding of this concept is by breaking it down.
The acronym stands for Search Engine Optimization, and two words make up this title. “Search” refers to any action someone could take when using Google or another search engine looking for information on the web. In fact, over 500 million searches are conducted on Google every day! And the word “engine” refers to what powers all these inquiries — which would be Google’s algorithms.
So then, SEO Optimization is anything that impacts how well your brand appears in organic SERPs.
The use of brand strategies, for example, SEO Keyword Optimization and other techniques, can increase your brand’s visibility on an organic basis.
Why it Matters to Your Small Business Marketing?
In today’s competitive business world, companies need to be seen online if they want their brand name out there at all. It isn’t enough anymore just to have a website or a Facebook page — you also must appear in Google search results pages (SERPs).
Studies show that between 55% – 70% of users click on one of the top three results when conducting a search, which means only 30%-45% will bother scrolling past those initial listings!
So this poses quite a problem for brands who aren’t currently ranking high up in SERPs. If your brand isn’t visible to the right audience, you are missing out on a lot of potential sales and brand awareness.

How Do You Get There? 5 Tips for Optimizing Your Blog Posts with SEO
To get high up in Google results pages with an organic search for brand keywords, there is a step-by-step process that must be followed:
Tip #1 – Determine Keywords & Create Content Around Them
It all starts here! The most important thing when it comes to SEO optimization is keyword research.
Without determining which words people will type into search engines looking for information about your brand or products, how can you expect good results from this strategy? In other words — if no one types “organic mattress” as their query after searching online for a brand name organic mattress, how will your brand show up in the top results?
You need to focus on keywords but make sure they are on-topic. This is the most important thing to remember when writing your next blog. A keyword is simply a word or set of words that people type into search engines to find information on the web.
I rely on tools like the Keywords Everywhere plugin and an Ubersuggest subscription to analyze keyword ranking opportunities. Since one of my big three platforms for content marketing is Pinterest, I always perform keyword searches there as well.
Tip #2 – Create Content Around Keywords
In addition to keyword research, there is also the creation of content around keywords that needs to be made here. This means that you must craft blog posts and webpages with these keyword phrases included throughout their copy for maximum SEO optimization returns on your investment.
You need not include it directly in every sentence or paragraph but rather find ways to weave them into the post naturally while still maintaining good flow and readability — just like you would any other piece of writing!
What Else Do I Need To Know About Optimizing My Blog Posts?
Although keyword research & creating content around keywords are the first steps you need to take before diving into the deep end of brand optimization, there are a few other things that must be kept in mind as well:
Tip #3 – Don’t stuff your copy full of keywords
This does not work anymore and can even hurt your brand’s SEO visibility. As stated earlier, it is essential to weave these phrases naturally throughout the article while still making them stand out on some level (i.e., bolding or italicizing).
If Google detects unnatural use/overuse of certain words within content, they may lower their rank for organic results, which means people will have less reason to click through from SERPs!
In fact, one study found 60% – 70% of all web pages ranked number one were given a penalty by Google for over-optimization.
Tip #4 – Remember to optimize your brand name on all other channels as well!
This includes making sure you have social media links back to your brand website(s) and mentioning your brand name throughout blog posts, articles shared via email newsletters, etc.
In addition, be sure your brand name and keywords are listed prominently within any assets such as infographics (you create on Canva) or videos that are posted online — this will help with branding and awareness even if it doesn’t directly impact search engine results at the moment.
Tip #5 – Add links
Adding links can also help with your SEO because links act as votes in the eyes of Google. So if other sites link back to your brand, it tells Google that you’re an authoritative resource on that topic.
Recap: Writing a Blog for SEO Tips
So there you go, five SEO tips when writing a blog post. The key here is keyword research and content creation around keywords while still maintaining a good flow, so readers don’t get bored or frustrated trying to read an article.
70% of users click on one of the top three results when searching, which means only 30%-45% will even bother scrolling past those initial listings! So this poses quite a problem for brands who aren’t currently ranking high up in SERPs. If your brand isn’t visible to the right audience, you are missing out on a lot of potential sales and brand awareness.
To get high up in Google results pages with an organic search for brand keywords, there is a bit of a time investment involved with brand name optimization from both the brand and SEO side.
In other words, it will take some work to get your brand where you want and need them within search results, but once this is accomplished, they should stay high up in SERPs for quite some time as long as all future brand content continues to be optimized correctly with keywords!
SEO Checker Software You Need To use
Lastly, once you have written your article, use SEO checker software to ensure that you have optimized it for search engine optimization.
There are two main types of software:
– On-Page: Tools that help with your keywords and content. For example, you can use the Yoast SEO plugin to check how your post will look when it goes up on Google. This plugin will provide feedback on the following areas of your blog article:
– keyword usage -heading tags- subheads, subheadings, sub-points, meta description
– Off-Page Tools: These are brand-building activities that help build brand awareness and equity by getting people to talk about your brand online.
These “Off-page” SEO tools allow you to see what keywords Google thinks are most relevant to your brand so you can target your post with the words people are searching for. Another popular way to use off-page tools is link building. Adding links can also help with your SEO because links act as votes in the eyes of Google. So if other sites link back to your brand, it tells Google that you’re an authoritative resource on that topic. My favorite Off-Page Tool is Ubersuggest.
If you want Google to rank your brand or site higher than your competitors, it is vital to think about both On-Page and Off-Page optimization.
How to Outsource your SEO Optimization
To recap, creating brand awareness and brand equity by getting people to talk about your brand online is an integral part of SEO. Tools like link building, on-page optimization, and off-page optimization will help you rank higher in SERPs for relevant keywords searched frequently.
Conducting keyword research is the first step when writing a blog post with maximum SEO potential because it helps establish how many words should be used per page or article.
If you want Google to rank your pages high up within search results pages, you need content that includes both on-page and off-page optimization strategies as well as links from other sites talking about your brand!
